The Comfort of Religion Psychosis.

With acknowledgements for the piccie, but not the postscript, to my young friend (and I trust that you do not think that I am abusing that word, Alan) Alan Mackenzie, whose excellent blog, 'Rank Atheism' can be found here.

OAPs in this wonderful new world that we fought to save cannot afford niceties such as Adobe Photoshop - or any other software that has an oncost - but must use freebies.

And if only Linus supported my USB modem, printer and scanner I'd dump Microsoft's appallingly expensive junk in a flash.

Sorry, Torvalds, that should read 'Linux'.

But then I'm very, very drunk.

Not for the modem or scanner, but even if there were, a Luddite like me would not be able to install them and get my system to work.

What this means is that there is a driver for my modem, but I cannot get it to work!!!

I suppose that's why Microsoft dominates the OS market.

Heck! I only took up computing 3 years ago in the hope that the new mental discipline would help counteract my advancing dementia.

I worked in IT or computing for 35 years and to amintain that it is, except in some very unusual circumstances, a mental discipline has me incontinent.

Of course it's a 'mental discipline' - the discipline of trying to patch all the flaws in Microsoft's overblown and crap OSes drives people mental! ;-)
